Friend, and contributor to Hornby Magazine with his popular monthly feature, Phil Parker, has now gone into print with his own spin off publication, that knowing Phil I am sure he very excited about!

‘Parker’s Guide’ is a Hornby Magazine special and is classed as a  ‘bookazine’ comprising of 132 perfect bound pages on good quality gloss paper. This is not just a compilation of some of Phil’s projects that have appeared in Hornby Magazine but includes plenty of new previously unpublished projects as well.
All are written in Phil’s cheery, light and informative style complete with plenty of clear step by step illustrations. From five simple ‘pocket money’ projects to more complex builds, there is something for all abilities and interests, with over 30 easy to follow projects.

Projects include  putting together plastic, resin, white metal and etched brass kits, chassis construction, to the building of complete dioramas. Simple construction techniques, tips and advice are included throughout the guide.
Whilst you might not want to build the exact same model or kit, although there is something for most genres and eras (including a Southern Region 10203 main line diesel), the tips and techniques are transferable across the wide range skills a modeller requires.

I am sure we can all learn something from this publication and gain inspiration at the same time.

All in all a good read and excellent value for money at only £7.99. Parker’s Guide has been published by Key Publishing  in conjunction of course with Hornby Magazine.
